It is important to bear in mind that after the denture has been placed in your mouth, you will need some time to adjust to it. During the first few days, you will experience some difference when you speak or eat, but this will change once you get used to your denture. Dentures fall under two main categories: partials and complete. Which type you need will depend on a few variables. Here’s a brief look at each type:

Removable Partials

These are removable dental appliances that are usually put in place to replace teeth that have been lost somehow. They are usually attached via a metal framework to the patient’s natural teeth. Partial dentures are ideal for those patients who just need to replace a few teeth or even just a single tooth. They can either be used on the lower or upper arch. Partial dentures need to be cared for very well as they can break easily and become dirty. They ought to be cleaned every day to eliminate any food particles or even plaque.

Complete Dentures

Complete dentures will be used in a scenario where you are missing all of your natural teeth.
